Kindergarten Art
We are so happy to have kindergarten art in the district! We are exploring various mediums, learning how to safely use supplies and how artists do things.
Students created painted papers using combs, sponges and various tools. They used dinosaur tracers to cut them out and place in their prehistoric landscape. Then, the students used plastic dinosaurs to add some footprints.
Recently, kinders have been creating some nice sponge paint Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees. After they read the story, we listened to the song, drew an oil pastel tree and created movement in art with our colorful falling letters!
Kindergarten artists made campfires by mixing red and yellow primary colors to make orange. These were displayed at the K-1 musical to go along with their Camping theme. The students used chalk to toast their marshmallow.
Kinders learned about the primary colors and created these lovely stained glass windows with tissue paper and a glue/ water wash.
Kinders painted self-portraits and included their own messy handprints from art. This one just has one handprint so it looks like it is waving to our BBES fans:)
Kinders have been experimenting with introductory printmaking. They used a brayer and bubblewrap to print an underwater background for a sea creature. They will be displayed at their upcoming "Songs of the Sea" music performance.
Kinders painted a fruit still life with fruit scented paints!!!! It was so fun. Sorry if a few of our artists went home with paint on the nose, they couldn't help smelling them!
